Where do we operate?

Our servicing area is primarily on vessels housed on swing moorings, marinas, and wharves within the Greater Sydney Harbour Region (within red box):

Regions include: Parramatta River, Lane Cove River, Sydney Harbour, and Middle Harbour.

***NOTICE: MAY 2024***

Due to all the heavy consistent rain Sydney has been experiencing since late April 2024, there is excessive pollution and run-off in the harbour, hampering water visibility conditions which make diving/cleaning difficult and hazardous. As such we are experiencing a backlog of work currently, so please bear with us as we wait till the weather changes and the water quality has improved. If you need an urgent clean please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

*******

You can’t afford not to clean your hull regularly!

Your boat is the perfect feeding and breeding ground for organisms such as the tube worm, which are small coral-like strands that grow on unpainted areas of your boat, or areas that have weak anti-fouling paint. The worms’ rapid population growth can quickly and seriously affect the performance and general integrity of your vessel, especially during the summer months.

Within a matter of days if left unattended this growth of algae, tube worms, barnacles and other marine organisms will attach to your waterline and exposed trailing edge area of your boat: not only making your boat look unsightly, but deteriorating the general performance of your vessel. If your hull is not thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis, you are using a significant amount of extra fuel (20 – 25%) each time you take your boat out! Not to mention the increased drag and weight, and lack of water flow into cooling systems - all which contribute to engines overheating and hinder safe control of your vessel.

Our principal Technical Commercial Scuba Diver and Company Owner - Martin - has been cleaning and maintaining Sydney’s vessels since 2015 - offering unrivalled expertise in underwater hull cleaning and boat maintenance.

By subscribing to a regular hull clean, you save both time and money by maintining your marine vessel in a perfect, clean condition- and without ever having to leave the water! The cost to completely remove a vessel from the water for extensive repairs and maintenence due to neglect can be an administrative nightmare and cost you in the thousands of dollars.

It is so important to maintain a clean hull and a regularly replace your underwater anodes. This will mean your vessel will spend much less time on the slip. With regular in-water maintenance, many of our clients cut their slipping intervals by as much as 70%!

Whilst slipping your vessel is something that can’t be completely eliminated, by maximizing your slipping interval, you save yourself hundreds of dollars and hours of time.

Why Clean Your Boat Underwater?

  • Improve overall performance of your vessel

  • Reduce fuel costs

  • Increases the useful lifetime of anti-fouling paint

  • Extend time between having to slip your vessel

  • Keep eye on anti-corrosion precautions such as zinc anodes monitoring and installation*

*Divers are trained in corrosion control and problem recognition and a diver report is forwarded to management and you are informed accordingly after each service.

General Price Guideline

$10 for every foot* e.g. 30 foot cruiser = $300 + GST.

*Prices quoted are a general guideline and will vary depending on a number of conditions e.g. last anti-foul coat applied, current condition of anti-foul paint, length between hull cleans etc. We will always endeavour to give you a realistic and accurate quote so you’re not stung with any nasty surprise surcharges on your invoice. If the estimated cost is higher than our quote, we will call you before proceeding with the job.

Those who subscribe to a regular rotational clean are charged less each clean as the level of growth is less.

FAQ’S

Q: What does the diver do besides cleaning?
A: Our divers assess and inspect the hull surface as they clean off the growth. Divers are trained in corrosion control and problem recognition, a diver report is forwarded to management and you are informed accordingly. Divers are able to identify any potential problems before they become a critical problem.

Q: What do you clean my boat with?
A: For hull cleaning we use four different types of non abrasive cleaning pads, each one corresponds to the condition of your anti-fouling paint. If your paint coverage is excellent, we use very soft cotton like cleaning pad. As your paint becomes thinner over time, the grade of pad we use also becomes slightly courser. Our very cautious treatment of your paint will help your paint last as long as possible. We use dry wall scrapers to remove hard growth (e.g. established barnacles) from unprotected areas such as props and shafts. We only use wire-brushes and steel wool on metal areas as needed for extra stubborn growth.

Q: How often do I need to clean my boat?
A: Once every 4-6 weeks, if a boat has enough anti-fouling properties left in the paint (usually the first 12 months). During the summer, 2-3 week cycles begin on boats with weak anti-fouling paint and we also clean props, shafts, trim-tabs and intakes.

Cleaning programs are customized to suit your needs. For example, you may choose to have the waterline and trim-tabs cleaned mid cycle (every two weeks) during the summer. Some customers choose to have their boat cleaned every week for premium performance. We will provide you recommendations after your first underwater hull clean, but it’s really up to you!

Q: How am I billed?
A: A before & after photo report and invoice will be sent to you via e-mail complete with diver commentary of any notable items. Payment can be made by Online Bank Transfer, Cash, or Card. Note that we accept most card payments with a surcharge as determined by a third-party provider.

Q: What areas do you operate?

A: From our Sydney base in Drummoyne - we operate througout the Greater Sydney Harbour region, however we specilise in the Parramatta River area. Refer to the map above for an indication of where this includes. We have a regular presence at marinas and brokerages in Cabarita, Balmain, Cockatoo Island and North Harbour region.
